About Me

For 20 years, I have worked with children and their families in the child welfare system and juvenile justice system. While both systems have many concerns, I believe there is so much hope and healing within family systems. Not all families are made the same. Some children are being raised in traditional families, some by their grandparents, aunts/uncles, or other family members, some by foster/adoptive parents, and some by community members who see the great potential in the child. My approach in working with families is to meet them where they are today and look forward to where they hope to be. Together we can implement strategies for a better future.

I am not only a professional; I am also a parent of 8 children. I have walked the same path as many of you. There are days when I felt lost, alone, and confused searching for answers. Each child of mine is unique with special qualities. Some of my children have come from adverse histories filled with trauma. Not everyday was perfect, I am still learning. Today, I have come to understand how trauma has impacted my children’s development - socially, behaviorally, cognitively, and physically.

Upon learning, researching, and becoming a TBRI Practitioner, I have found great purpose. I have seen the immense changes that healthy connection and connected correction can bring into a family. My desire is to pass the HOPE unto caregivers, schools, and agencies so that children can experience healing from their experiences.

Hope is what keeps me going everyday and I desire to bring HOPE to your child’s life also.
